The ArtTracks body of work began with a simple question:

What if the songs that shaped my life could be translated into color?

Each painting begins with a song that marked a moment in my life, but these works are not illustrations of lyrics. Instead, I distill the emotional experience of the music into color, proportion, texture, line, and restraint. In the process, I realized I wasn't simply painting songs—I was painting memory, identity, longing, desire, loss, and the emotions that often exist just beneath the surface.

The paintings are intentionally minimal. Each ArtTracks piece is constructed in three fields, with two dominant areas of color separated by a narrow line. The proportions are deliberate, creating a visual rhythm much like the structure of a song. The larger fields establish the emotional weight of the piece, while the smaller field and dividing line introduce tension, interruption, or transition.

The horizontal line becomes a kind of visual pause—a boundary between one emotional state and another. Sometimes it represents connection, sometimes separation. It can suggest a threshold, a moment of change, or simply the space between what is felt and what is spoken.

This restraint is important. Music can communicate enormous emotion through remarkably few notes, and I wanted the paintings to operate in a similar way. Rather than telling the viewer what to see, the simplicity creates room for the viewer to feel.

There are also secrets within the work.

Song titles, lyrics, colors, proportions, and personal associations create a visual language that often says more than it initially appears to. Some references are recognizable; others are deliberately hidden in plain sight. The paintings reveal themselves slowly, much like a familiar song can take on an entirely different meaning as we move through our lives.

For much of my life, I learned to conceal parts of myself. Music became a place where I could recognize feelings I didn't yet have the language to express. ArtTracks is a continuation of that conversation—a visual autobiography told through the soundtrack of my life.

What began as an exploration of music became an exploration of self.

Every painting begins with a song, but its destination is emotion.

Ultimately, ArtTracks invites the viewer to do more than look at a painting. It asks them to remember. To consider the songs that have shaped their own lives, the people and moments attached to them, and the things those songs allowed them to feel or say.

Because sometimes a song says what we cannot.

And sometimes the deepest truths are the ones whispered rather than spoken.
